Prosecutors: Facebook assault victim was threatened with dog

Prosecutors: Facebook assault victim was threatened with dog

The teenage girl, from Chicago, was allegedly assaulted by five or six males as around 40 people watched on the video streaming service without reporting the attack.

The 15-year-old girl went missing on March 19.

Gardner said the 15-year-old, who turned himself in Monday, was with another boy when they encountered the 15-year-old girl in a neighborhood park on March 19 and lured her to a basement in the West Side neighborhood of Lawndale, where authorities say she was assaulted.

Appearing in court for the first time, the eighth-grader is charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, three counts of manufacturing child pornography and three counts of dissemination.

Public Defender Liliana Dago, who is defending the 15-year-old boy, said in court there was not enough evidence for several of the sexual-assault charges against her client because he received oral sex from the victim but did not engage in intercourse with the girl. Police haven't released the names of any suspects.

Gardner said while the boy may not have had intercourse, the charges were appropriate because he was there and videotaped another person raping the girl.

Susan Rice: 'Absolutely false' that Obama played politics with intel
I don't solicit reports, I only receive what the intelligence community thinks I or any other senior official needs to see. However, it is not clear if Rice wanted to know the names under instruction to do so or if she acted on her own.

According to Patricia Mendoza, the judge overseeing the Facebook Live gangrape case, it's quite likely that that the two boys will be trialed as adults.

"While I know the emotional wounds caused by this savagery will take long to heal, I'm hopeful her story can be an inspiration to so many other young women who are victimized by bullying and sexual assault", Johnson continued.

The police only got involved after the victim's mother approached Superintendent Eddie Johnson at a neighbourhood meeting and showed him graphic photographs taken from the Facebook video.

"We've seen a couple acts in this city now in the last few months involving social media, and it just disgusts me that people could look at those videos and not pick up the phone and dial 911", Johnson said.

The girl had stayed over with family the evening of March 18 and gone to church with them the next day, then was dropped off near home before disappearing. The high school freshman had gone to the store and her mother became concerned when she did not return. The girl's mother said that her daughter was moved to a safe location, as she became the subject of the children's ridicule.
