'Wonder Woman' Sequel: Patty Jenkins Officially Set to Return as Director

'Wonder Woman' Sequel: Patty Jenkins Officially Set to Return as Director

She was only paid $1 million to direct the first film, but The Hollywood Reporter has learned that she's netting a phenomenal $7-9 million for Wonder Woman 2.

Pictures has roped in director Patty Jenkins to helm the sequel to "Wonder Woman", a source close to production confirms to CNN.

Jenkins was only signed on to direct one "Wonder Woman" movie, which led to a tough negotiating process between her reps and the studio as the box-office tally for the movie continued to soar throughout the summer, giving her massive leverage in the talks.

While her involvement in the flick has only just been made official, Jenkins has already been hard at work on the follow-up's script, which she's co-writing with DCEU mastermind Geoff Johns.

Tropical Depression Thirteen forms in Gulf of Mexico: NHC
Tropical Depression Thirteen has formed in the southwest Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles east of Tampico, Mexico. A hurricane watch has been issued for the Mexican state of Veracruz by the Mexican government.

HuffPost has reached out to Warner Bros. and Patty Jenkins' team for comment.

Directors like Ava DuVernay are working to spotlight and hire more female directors and crew members, and it looks like Jenkins has been fighting the pay inequity fight. Gal Gadot will also reprise the role of the Amazon Princess for a December 13th, 2019 release date. The goal is to make another great Wonder Woman film. Of course, if you purchase the Blu-Ray from Walmart, you'll also manage to get your own wearable Wonder Woman tiara.

"Wonder Woman", was the first stand-alone movie to star a female superhero since 2005's box office dud "Elektra", and the first to be directed by a woman.
