Brady returns to practice, assures fans he'll play Sunday

Brady missed Tuesday's practice - his first absence of the season - as he nurses a left shoulder injury, a league source confirmed.

Brady sat out yesterday to rest a relatively minor left shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 4 against the Panthers and aggravated Thursday against the Buccaneers.

Added Brady: "I'll be there Sunday".

Bill Belichick had high praise for Brady's toughness earlier in the day.

Brady has undergone tests for the injury but is expected play in the team's Week 6 game against the Jets in NY on Sunday, sources told ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Joel Embiid, 76ers Reportedly Agree on 5-Year, $148 Million Contract Extension
He played well in 31 games in 2016-17, averaging 20.2 points and 7.8 rebounds, before succumbing to knee surgery on March 24. More to the point, the franchise is hopeful enough in his future that it was willing to promise him almost $150 million.

"I think everybody does", he said.

Tom Brady was not seen at Patriots practice on Tuesday during the portion open to media.

The Patriots face the Jets this Sunday at 1pm in East Rutherford, NJ. The game was a particularly brutal one for the Patriots quarterback, who was sacked three times and hit six times over the course of 60 minutes.

Aside from when Brady missed almost the entire 2008 season due to an ACL and MCL tear in Week 1 against the Chiefs, he has been remarkably durable.

The Patriots travel to NY to face the Jets in Week 6 and will look to keep Gang Green's pass rushers at bay, as they look to avoid hits on their 40-year-old quarterback. He's already been sacked 16 times after a 15-sack season in 2016.
