Civilization VI Fair Price for its Launch in Apple World

Civilization VI Fair Price for its Launch in Apple World

"Civilization 6" is now playable on the go, as the turn-based strategy game came out on the Apple Store on Thursday, Dec. 21. And now gamers with an iPad can play the game away from their computers: Civilization VI is out now for iPad.

Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: "cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game".

Civ VI is available now on the iOS App Store.

The game is now available from the App Store, with a free download where you can try 60 turns of the game before buying. The mobile port has been developed by Aspyr Media, the studio that has previously ported titles from series like Civilization, Borderlands, BioShock and others to macOS and Linux.

Civilization VI was released all the way back in October past year, but now it turns out that a whole new group of players can join the fun, as the game has been released on iPad, requiring a rather hefty 3.14GB download to get going. Still, Civilization is a thoroughly addicting game, and one that seems ideal for the pick-up-and-go possibilities of the iPad. That's the same developer responsible for porting games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire to mobile devices.

It might be good to know that the game works on iOS 11.1.2 operating system on this kinds of iPads: iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, iPad Pro (any). Making Civilization VI run on a tablet is a much more impressive feat, though. Firaxis Games developed the PC version, but the Linux and Mac versions are courtesy of Aspyr.

Plus, they're thinking about supporting DLC and Rise And Fall expansions in the future.

There is a section in the game that reads "additional content".
