Over 210000 petition Seoul to leave cryptocurrency market alone

According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin opened trading at $11,348 in value today but has dropped down to $9,702.

Bitcoin, the king of all cryptocurrencies, dropped below $10,000 last night, in the steepest drop-off in value since January of previous year.

Prices of bitcoin, ripple and ethereum plunged earlier this week, with bitcoin dropping under $10,000 yesterday. It's a one-two gut punch that underscores just how volatile this insane cryptocurrency market is. Regulators will also target people and companies that provide market-making, settlement and clearing services for centralized trading, the publication said, citing unnamed sources.

China is also reportedly looking to crackdown on the cryptocurrency market.

The dominance index of bitcoin, which calculates the dominance of the cryptocurrency over the global market, has increased over the past 48 hours amidst one of the worst corrections the market has experienced since June 2017.

Bitcoin fell below the US$10,000 level on Wednesday as a selloff continued in cyrptocurrencies amid fears of a regulatory clampdown on the units in various countries including South Korea and China.

However, although crypto experts are philosophical over bitcoin's "resting" state, mainstream finance commentators are now suggesting that the staggering price rise of digital currencies bears all the hallmarks of a "classic speculative bubble".

Even with the massive fall the Daniel Duarte Figueiredo who is a co-founder of Auctus blockchain firm remain very optimistic that Bitcoin will recover.

Last week, the justice minister's remark that the country will ban bitcoin and other digital currencies triggered big sell-offs and a public outcry. Due to the volatile nature, governments all around the world are planning to make strict regulatory requirements for bitcoin and other digital currencies. On the week, Bitcoin's has lost almost a third of its value, hitting its lowest level since November of past year. South Korea announced a few days that they were seeking out ways to regulate cryptocurrencies, with rumors of an outright ban. The I-T department is trying to work out a way of assessing these virtual currencies for tax purposes.

In fact, January 16, 2018, has been a particularly sad day in the recent history of all cryptocurrencies.
