Gunman kills U.S. marshal, wounds officer in Pennsylvania

"The person who used that force is not at large", Chardo said in a press conference, according to WGAL.

Federal authorities say a USA deputy marshal is dead while attempting to serve a warrant this morning inside a residence in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

"Christopher Hill died a hero today".

Papenfuse says the suspect was critically wounded by officers.

Little data was released at the morning news meeting, but Chardo affirmed there were shots discharged at a Harrisburg home around 6:10 a.m. Neighbors also disclosed to WHTM they heard dozens of shots discharged.

The gunman was killed in the shootout, and Pierce was taken into custody, according to the USMS.
