Uma Thurman Reveals She Was One of Harvey Weinstein's Victims

Uma Thurman Reveals She Was One of Harvey Weinstein's Victims

The actress told the New York Times that she was four days away from finishing the nine-month shoot for the two films when Tarantino said she would be driving the blue convertible and not a stunt performer.

In the interview, Thurman also recounts a traumatic event on the set of "Kill Bill", where she was injured in a auto crash after being coerced into filming her own stunt by director Quentin Tarantino.

Afterwards, she says Weinstein made an unwanted advance in a hotel room during an argument, and later "pushed me down".

The day after the incident, Thurman said she was sent a "26-inch-wide vulgar bunch of roses" from Weinstein, with a note that said "You have great instincts". Thurman says that prior to the meeting at the Paris hotel room, she was friendly with his wife at the time, Eve Chilton, and that she regarded him as her professional "champion" who would spend hours talking to her about material.

Thurman expressed guilt for all the women who accused Weinstein of sexual abuse after, often, being led to his hotel room under the presumption that their meeting with him was about business. But she alleged the first "attack" came not long after the odd meeting in Paris, at the Savoy Hotel in London.

Punjab's Most Wanted Gangster Vicky Gounder Shot Dead In Police Encounter
Gounder, who had led the Nabha jailbreak with five other prisoners in November 2016, continued to elude police. Prema Lahoria is a Jalandhar-based gangster who assisted Gounder in many killings, according the police.

Uma didn't feel comfortable driving the vehicle and says a teamster led her to believe the auto might not be working well. "If you do what you did to me to other people you will lose your career, your reputation and your family, I promise you", she allegedly warned him. "Mr. Weinstein acknowledges making a pass at Ms. Thurman in England after misreading her signals in Paris", a rep for Weinstein told the Times. "Quentin (Tarantino) used Harvey as the executive producer of Kill Bill, a movie that symbolizes female empowerment", she said. She suffered a concussion, a neck injury and severe damage to her knees. She then walked the Times through how she questioned how safe it was for her to drive the vehicle Tarantino wanted her to in a particular scene, one that had her speeding down a winding, sandy road, and that he insisted she do so in spite of her discomfort. He tried to expose himself.

"He did all kinds of unpleasant things", she said.

"I used the word 'anger, ' but I was more anxious about crying, to tell you the truth", Thurman said in the Times article. I thought he was being super idiosyncratic, like this was your kooky, eccentric uncle ... then I followed him through a door and it was a steam room. "But he didn't actually put his back into it and force me", she said of the incident, for which she didn't specify a date.

Thurman first spoke about Weinstein, and the Me Too movement in general, back in November. "We were in a awful fight for years", she said. "The steering wheel was at my belly and my legs were jammed under me".

She added, "I've been waiting to feel less angry". He has apologized for causing "a lot of pain" with "the way I've behaved with colleagues in the past" but has denied "any allegations of non-consensual sex". "It took a long time because I think that as little girls we are conditioned to believe that cruelty and love somehow have a connection, and that is like the sort of era that we need to evolve out of".
