Adam Schiff 'must be stopped' as Democrats push to release dueling memo

Adam Schiff 'must be stopped' as Democrats push to release dueling memo

The U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee voted unanimously on Monday to release a Democratic rebuttal to a memo written by the panel's Republicans that accused the FBI and the Justice Department of bias against President Donald Trump in the Russian Federation investigation, the committee's top Democrat said.

According to the memo, a number of then top USA law enforcement leaders abused their power by inappropriately obtaining a surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to the Trump presidential campaign until September 2016.

LUCAS: Well, the important point that you mentioned earlier is that it's a response to the Republican memo, and that's the one, of course, that alleged the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Justice Department omitted important facts when it got court approval to conduct surveillance on a former Trump campaign aide. The committee voted Monday to allow the Democrats' account to be made public- and Trump has five days to decide whether to release it.

If the committee voted to release it, the memo would be sent to the White House for declassification as before and President Trump would need to authorize its release.

Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or ... anything else.

"The assumption among confused and dismayed FBI employees is that the attacks are meant to soften the blow should the investigation by Mr. Mueller, the special counsel, lead to additional charges". They say that this is about Mueller, but they say that it's an attempt to undermine Mueller's investigation.

The confirmation about Papadopoulos is "the most important fact disclosed in this otherwise shoddy memo", Schiff said Saturday. And Trump praised the man behind the Republican memo.

On Monday he added in tweets that Nunes is a hero, while Schiff is a "liar" and a "leaker."

Democrats are clearly scrambling to regain control of the narrative surrounding Russiagate, with spurious accusations of a Republican Congress going out of its way in seeking to protect Trump.

Matt Patricia Is Officially the Lions Coach — No Surprise Here
Patricia has been a part of the New England Patriots staff since being hired by head coach Bill Belichick in 2004. Defensively, players such as Glover Quin, Darius Slay, Jarrad Davis and A'Shawn Robinson form a promising core.

In their mind, the memo provides clear evidence that there is no basis for any investigation into the Trump campaign's improper coordination with Russian Federation during the 2016 election - but they have to essentially invent a document that does not exist in order to get there.

Former CIA Director Mike Hayden worries that the memo's release will damage congressional oversight and the effectiveness of law enforcement.

Papadopoulos is one of four Trump campaign associates who have been charged in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged collusion between the campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 presidential race.

Last week, Trump attacked both agencies through his Twitter account, saying their leadership and investigators had "politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans".

"Russia tried to interfere with our election in 2016, with or without a dossier", said Gowdy, who is a member of the House intelligence panel and helped advise staff on the writing of the GOP memo.

Trump has claimed the Republican memo "totally vindicates" him in the special counsel's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the president's campaign and Moscow.

Schiff needs Republican support to carry his motion.

"Current and former prosecutors say Mr. Sessions's tepid response reflects efforts to appease Mr. Trump, even at the expense of morale among the department's employees, and has raised fears that prosecutors can not depend on protection from political interference".
