Healthcast : A Study on an Amino Acid & It's Impact on Breast Cancer

Reducing the ingestion of asparagine may benefit patients, but Baroness Delyth Morgan, chief executive of Breast Cancer Now, Britain's largest breast cancer research charity, said in a statement, "We don't recommend patients totally exclude any specific food group from their diet without speaking to their doctors".

When scientists reduced asparagine in animals with breast cancer, they found that the number of secondary tumours in other tissues fell dramatically.

While some reports say that diets low in asparagine could prevent cancer from spreading, study co-author and biomedical scientist Simon Knott wants to make it clear that no one should be acting just yet.

"Limiting asparagine by knockdown of asparagine synthetase, treatment with L-asparaginase, or dietary asparagine restriction reduces metastasis without affecting growth of the primary tumor, whereas increased dietary asparagine or enforced asparagine synthetase expression promotes metastatic progression", wrote the article's authors. Foods low in asparagine include most fruits and vegetables.

Diet may impact the spread of some cancers, according to a study published Wednesday by an global team of researchers. The chemical compound is also found in dairy, beef, poultry, eggs, fish, potatoes, beans, nuts, soy and grains.

They said their findings could also have implications for other cancer types, including kidney, and head and neck cancers.

Then the Echo can compare live commands to the acoustic fingerprint of the snippet to determine whether the commands are authentic.

"This finding adds vital information to our understanding of how we can stop cancer spreading - the main reason patients die from their disease", Hannon said. As per the study in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention in May 2017, the five year comparative survival rate for patients with metastatic breast cancer magnified between 1992 to 1994 and 2005 to 2012, increasing from 18 percent to 36 percent.

Amino acids are building blocks in proteins.

Humans also have this gene, which allows them to produce asparagine biologically.

"Research like this is crucial to help develop better treatments for breast cancer patients".

"This is interesting research looking at how cutting off the supply of nutrients essential to cancer's spread could help restrain tumours". It's possible that in future, this drug could be re-purposed to help treat breast cancer patients.
