NEC will finalise Zuma transition on Monday- Ramaphosa

NEC will finalise Zuma transition on Monday- Ramaphosa

It is widely expected that Zuma will resign this weekend or early next week, after increasing pressure from ANC leadership structures following Ramaphosa's victory at the party's elective conference in December.

On Sunday, the ANC marked the commemoration of Mandela from prison in Cape Town. It said the leaders, who have participated in discussions on Zuma's exit, dropped out because of "various other commitments".

Ramaphosa says discussions that he has held with Zuma had to be conducted with "care and purpose" and with the aim of uniting South Africans.

"We all know and anticipate that they are dealing with the current issue that is facing our country", Faiez Jacobs, the party's provincial secretary, told eNCA television.

"Don't dictate what he should do and put labels to force him to do what you think must be done now", Mantashe said, slamming analysts who this week asked "where are Ramaphosa's balls" amidst the country's anxiety over Zuma's future.

Ramaphosa, who negotiated on behalf of the ANC in talks to end apartheid, has ignored frustration from the opposition parties who have been howling for Zuma to go for years.

"In defence of Madiba's legacy, we will continue to wage a relentless war on corruption and mismanagement of the resources of our country".

Spokesman Pule Mabe declined to comment on whether the meeting of the National Executive Committee, which has the power to instruct Zuma to resign, would discuss Zuma's political future.

The beta for the PlayStation 4's next major system software update 5.50 releases today for users selected for the beta program . One of the primary complaints on the original Gold Headset was that the foldable hinges were flimsy and would break over time.

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa called for patience following a meeting with Zuma earlier in the week.

She posted a happy photo of herself and her husband, seemingly inside a plane, from her Instagram account, firstladytzuma, with the following caption in isiZulu: "My crush, Nxamalala, Msholozi, Maphumephethe, Inkunzi, Emidiwayidwa, Zinyane likaMnyakanya".

President Jacob Zuma is being offered the chance to escape prosecution on charges of state capture if he admits criminal wrongdoing and turns against the Guptas. "He will finish what he started because he does not take orders beyond the Atlantic Ocean #mattersofthestomach (sic)".

Ramaphosa also used the occasion to call on South Africans to reflect on the things that had gone wrong in the past and to make sure they do not happen again.

In the last several years, South Africa's political turmoil has also led to economic uncertainty.

Ramaphosa is due to give a speech tomorrow as part of year-long celebrations to mark 100 years since the birth of Mandela.

Zuma had been set to officiate at the awards ceremony at the Cape Town International Convention Centre today.
