Indian court grants bail to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan

Within few minutes judge's order copy will reach trail court after which the jail authorities will read the copy and salman Khan accused Number 106, will be sent out.

Salman khan was convicted for black buck poarching case, and was sentenced for 5 years imprisionment.

Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Apr 06 (ANI): One of Bollywood actor Salman Khan's defence counsel Mahesh Bora on Friday claimed that he received threatening messages and internet calls to not to not to appear in the court regarding the bail hearing. While his co-stars, who were also accused in the case were set free, the Dabangg star, being the strongman, had to pay the pay the price for the crime.

Seven others, including actors Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam, were on trial for the alleged poaching; however, Khan was the only person convicted.

Earlier, the apex court had refused to grant bail to Asaram on various grounds in the two sexual assault cases lodged in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

After spending only 48 hours in the jail, the actor romped home amid great rejoicing as Bollywood and his fans celebrate his return.

Khan, who spent two nights in Jodhpur jail, will appeal against his conviction at a higher court.

For the past 20 years, the witnesses from the Bishnoi community - which reveres the blackbuck - had maintained that Salman killed the two blackbucks.

Khan's lawyer asked for bail but the plea was adjourned after a judge said he wanted to see the entire case record. Nonetheless, relief was not just for Salman and his fans but for family members as well.

After the bail plea hearing held this morning in Jodhpur, superstar Salman Khan was granted bail in the 1998 blackbuck case on a personal bond of INR1 lakh by District and Sessions Court Judge Ravindra Kumar Joshi. But the actor's legal travails are not yet over as the case will come up for hearing again on May 7.

Salman Khan is likely to be out of Jodhpur Central Jail by 7.30 pm.
