The oldest man of the planet is a 112-year-old Japanese

The oldest man of the planet is a 112-year-old Japanese

But his favourite pastime is to soak in the hot springs and relax.

Nonaka lives with his family in his home, which doubles as the more than 100-year-old hot spring inn he used to run.

Nonaka, who was born on 25 July 1905 - just months before Albert Einstein published his theory of special relativity - received a certificate from Guinness World Records at home on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido.

He also enjoys eating candies, especially cakes.

His age is 112 years 259 days.

"He needs a wheelchair to move but he is in good condition", Yuko Nonaka, his granddaughter, told AFP.

Donald Trump Won't Be Mentioned Again on 'Roseanne'
ABC had projected a 2.2 and a 2.0 rating in the demo for the first two episodes, according to a network source. But they didn't think it would be so popular to begin with, either.

Previously, the record of longevity belonged to Francisco Nunez Oliver, who died at the age of 113 years in Spain in January 2018.

The man has always been in retirement and spends his time mostly watching TV, reading newspapers and enjoying his favorite candies and cakes.

"Nonaka's achievement is remarkable", Guinness World Records' editor-in-chief Craig Glenday said, adding, "he can teach us all an important lesson about the value of life and how to stretch the limits of human longevity". He is also fond of spending time with his family.

He has outlived all seven of his siblings, as well as his wife and two of their five children. While Nonaka believes his longevity is due to his likings to candies and the springs, his daughter thinks it is because he lives life stressless way.

Jiroemon Kimura, a Japanese who died in 2013 at 116, was recognized by Guinness as the longest-lived man in history. She claimed it was because he lives his life in a way that does not bring him stress.

Japanese woman, Nabi Tajima, 117, is about to be named the world's oldest person.
