Trump's personal attorney can't seem to keep his lies straight

Trump's personal attorney can't seem to keep his lies straight

After hearing the matter Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Kimba Wood said she did not have enough information to issue any ruling on that request.

"It's an estimate", replied Cohen's lawyer, Todd Harrison.

Prosecutors said the investigation focuses on Cohen's "own business dealings" rather than his work as an attorney.

Agents also sought records on Cohen's taxi business, CNN reported. Officials redacted a section in the document explaining why they thought they could not trust Cohen to turn over records willingly.

"Because the facts underlying this action and the criminal investigation related to Mr. [Michael] Cohen overlap, Mr. Cohen's Fifth Amendment rights may be adversely impacted if this case proceeds", lawyers for Cohen and Trump argued in court regarding Cohen's right against self-incrimination.

"Mr. Trump, Mr. Cohen and their teams were still scrambling on Friday to assess the damage from the raid early Monday morning", The Times. Cohen recently admitted to paying the adult film actress Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels, a sum of $130,000 just before the 2016 election.

The prosecutors assert that they have confidence that any seized material would not fall under the significant amount of attorney-client privilege that Cohen has claimed.

They said agents had already searched multiple email accounts maintained by Cohen.

Khloe Kardashian Reportedly 'Having Early Contractions' Following Tristan Thompson Cheating Scandal
According to the report, Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner , have already discussed how they plan to deal with Thompson. For the last few weeks Khloe has been preparing to welcome her daughter at her and Tristan's home in Cleveland .

After giving Trump until Monday to weigh in, Wood then decided that she would resume a part of the hearing at 2 p.m. on Friday, apparently to consider interests of other clients - "innocent parties" she said - whose files may have been vacuumed up in the Cohen raid.

Stormy Daniels previously filed a lawsuit against President Trump and Cohen in order to overturn her alleged "hush" agreement to not speak about her affair with Trump. This includes investigating any potential ties between Trump campaign associates and Russian Federation.

Prosecutors demanded all communication with the campaign - and in particular two advisers, Corey Lewandowski and Hope Hicks, according to two people briefed on the warrants.

Mr Cohen has been under criminal investigation for months, federal prosecutors disclosed in a filing in Manhattan federal court in Friday.

"This has clearly been a delay tactic from the outset", said Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas McKay.

McClatchy's sources did not say whether Cohen took a commercial flight or private jet to Europe, and gave no explanation as to why no record of such a trip has surfaced.

Accordingly, they argue, most of the material seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation does not involve attorney-client privilege and could figure in a future court case. Her impatience at their failure to do so was palpable by late afternoon.

"It resulted in the unnecessary seizure of protected attorney client communications between a lawyer and his client", attorney Stephen Ryan said in the statement. Trump's advisers are said to be anxious about whether the recordings touched on any matters related to the president.
