Claire Danes announces pregnancy on Howard Stern Show: 'I haven't told anyone'

After months of speculation fueled by an exiting producer, Homeland star and executive producer Claire Danes has stated that the yet-to-be-filmed season 8 will be the last for the Showtime terrorism drama series.

During a recent interview, series star Claire Danes confirmed that the series will conclude with the eighth season.

"I've always wanted to have kids, but I'm glad I didn't until now", Danes told Elle back in 2013, shortly after she had welcomed Cyrus.

Claire is expecting her second child with her husband of nine years, Hugh Dancy. "She crocheted this awesome bag for me, which was so lovely", Danes said. The actress added she's "really conflicted" about the decision. The show runner Alex Gansa had told in February that the eighth season will most likely be his a year ago with the show. "You just feel rotten and you're not allowed to say why", she said.

In constrat to Danes's statements of the show ending, a representative for Showtime said, "The network has not made a decision beyond season eight", according to The Wrap. Where things could go in Season 8 are uncertain, but it could give the show the right amount of time to wind everything down in a way that's satisfying for long-time viewers. According to Gansa, the last episodes he and Danes are involved with "will be created to be the end of an eight-season story". The drama series is now airing its seventh season and the season finale episode is set to air on April 29. The series is now in the tail end of Season 7.

When asked about the baby's sex, Claire refused to give an answer nor a clue, saying, "I'm going to keep that to myself".
