Another Reddy brother in BJP's third list for Karnataka

Another Reddy brother in BJP's third list for Karnataka

In a related development, another BJP leader K S Eshwarappa, the party's leader in the state Legislative Council, also filed his nomination from Shivamogga Assembly segment.

Hitting back at Congress leaders, Mr Shah, while participating in the Bharatiya Janata Party's foundation day celebrations in Mumbai on April 6, had claimed he was a "Hindu Vaishnav", refuting Mr Siddaramaiah's claim that he was a Jain.

"Amit Shah says Centre provided lots of grants to Karnataka in the past". Shah slammed Congress for calling the blast in Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid in 2007 as a case of "Bhagwa Atankwad" (saffron terrorism). He added that Rae Bareli was a classic case of a constituency which always witnessed "parivarwad" and not "vikaswaad".

He alleged that the grand old party was trying to "defame" Hindus. "You must apologise to the nation", he said. "Congress needs to apologise for its deeds".

People gathered in large numbers along the narrow lanes of this rapidly growing town in Bengaluru Rural district as Shah took out the roadshow.

The new movie theater also came equipped with prayer rooms to accommodate the daily Muslim prayer times . Scenes of violence are not cut, but scenes involving nudity, sex or even kissing often get axed.

Shah's visit to Rae Bareli comes days after former Congress president Sonia Gandhi visited her Lok Sabha constituency, her first trip there in almost two years. "Yogi government has restored rule of law in UP and going ahead with Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas in right earnest", averred Shah.

The BJP president also underlined the schemes and policies of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre for the welfare of farmers. Rae Bareli has remained a Congress stronghold decades.

The BJP on Friday released third list of 59 candidates for the May 12 elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly.

This time the BJP is out to test Rae Bareli's love for the Nehru-Gandhi family, now represented by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, a four-term MP.
