Apple offers battery replacement for some 13-inch MacBook Pros

Apple offers battery replacement for some 13-inch MacBook Pros

Apple has determined that, in a limited number of 13-inch MacBook Pro (non Touch Bar) units, a component may fail causing the built-in battery to expand. Owners of MacBook Pro notebooks built in the date range mentioned before can go to the Apple support page for this issue and a tool is provided to check if the notebook is eligible for a battery replacement.

Apple has announced that the battery replacement program is free of cost and owns won't have to spend anything for batteries. The issue doesn't affect models with the Touch Bar. However, Apple didn't reveal the actual number of MacBooks that have been affected by the issue. Any problems discovered will have to be fixed before the battery can be replaced.

Customers are told to enter in their serial number at this page to see if their unit is eligible.

Top DJ Avicii, 28, found dead in Oman
Avicii's peers in the dance music scene, including Calvin Harris and David Guetta , are mourning the loss of the influential act. If we talk about the awards, Avicii took plenty of awards home including two MTV Music Awards, one Billboard Music Award.

Apple noted, that the "your 13-inch MacBook Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order". You will need to get in touch with Apple Support for that.

Affected laptops need to be taken to either an Apple Repair Centre, an Apple Retail Store, or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Apple, however, will not extend the standard warranty coverage of the devices. Apple states that the servicing may take up to 3-5 business days to offer the battery replacement to the affected models. "In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the fix".
