North Korea Says It Will Close Its Nuclear Test Site Next Month

North Korea Says It Will Close Its Nuclear Test Site Next Month

South Korea's government says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un plans to shut down his country's nuclear test site in May and make the process transparent to officials and journalists from the US and South Korea.

As to the channel's information, these states are included in the short list of possible sites for their meeting.

The decision to return to the same time is one of the many symbolic highlights of the historic Friday summit between North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Trump's Saturday remarks comes after Kim on Friday crossed the demilitarized zone that divides the Korean Peninsula and met Moon, the first time the leaders of North and South Korea met in person since 2007.

They have agreed to sign a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War, after hostilities concluded in 1953 without an official end to the conflict.

He said that at Trump's direction, he spoke with Kim about the release of three USA citizens detained by North Korea.

The nuclear site is called Punggye-ri, located in the north of North Korea where NPR's Elise Hu notes that "the Kim regime has flouted worldwide rules six times to test nuclear devices underground".

Amazon announces major expansion in Boston
In November, the company announced 1,000 new tech jobs at its Vancouver office. These new jobs will focus on Amazon web services, Audible and Alexa.

Trump is preparing for his own summit with Kim, which he said would take place in the next three to four weeks. Kind of a throwback: back in the 1950s, Syngman Rhee had South Korea's standard time set 30 minutes ahead of Japan's. "We're down to two countries, as to a site, and we'll let you know what that site is".

While Pyongyang says it will close its nuclear test site next month, Kim and Moon did not outline concrete measures to be taken to achieve that goal of denuclearization.

Yoon said this indicates Kim's willingness to actively coordinate with the global community.

"This is the best period I've seen in a long time", former U.N. Ambassador and ex-Gov.

The U.S.is demanding that North Korea relinquish its nuclear weapons program, and it has built an worldwide sanctions regime to pressure the regime into doing that.

Mr Moon and Mr Kim during the summit promised to work towards the "complete denuclearisation" of the Korean Peninsula, but made no references to verification or timetables. "Only time will tell if we're going to be able to achieve it", said Pompeo. Look, I may go in.

Whilst this development is a welcoming one, it is however important to remember that this is not the first time leaders of both the North and South Korea are attempting to bury the hatched and moved on peacefully as brothers.
