Nintendo Reveals New Details of Online Service

Details have been coming in slowly regarding Nintendo's upcoming online service for the Nintendo Switch, which is set to launch in September.

Among the key features of the new service is the Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online, a library of 20 games at launch from the classic NES console.

It's A Meme, Mario!

From September, games that have online like Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Mario Tennis Aces will all required the Online Service to play online. Confirmed titles include Soccer, Balloon Fight, Tennis, Ice Climber, Donkey Kong, Dr. Mario, Mario Bros. Nintendo is also offering what they call a Family Membership, which will allow up to eight Nintendo Account holders to access the online service through one subscription for $34.99 a year.

At launch, Nintendo Switch Online will feature the NES - NSO, a collection of classic games you've known and loved for generations.

The Nintendo Switch Online app is already available for iOS and Android, and offers voice chat and multiplayer hubs for supported games.

It seems Nintendo is still planning to go ahead with its threatened online service, an equivalent to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

Baker Mayfield hungry to get Cleveland Browns back to tradition of winning
He too has had an exciting week and is happy to finally have the draft process behind him and is ready to start playing football. According to a projection from ESPN, Mayfield's four-year deal will be worth about $32.5 million guaranteed.

Paid membership to the Nintendo Switch Online service will be required when users want to play online starting this September. Friends will be able to watch each other play single-player games online and "pass the controller" at any time. There will be 20 NES games at launch and some of them will be playable online either competitively or co-cooperatively.

The price of Nintendo Switch Online varies depending on whether you like to pay monthly, quarterly or yearly.

"There are now no plans to bring classic games together under the Virtual Console banner as has been done on other Nintendo systems", said a spokesperson to stop the hype.

Nintendo Switch Online will launch in September, nearly 18 months after the console originally launched.

There will also be discounts and special offers for members so you can chip away at that Switch premium you've been paying for certain titles. It's not exactly the robust list that the Virtual Console boasts on the Wii U or 3DS, but that doesn't mean Nintendo is abandoning its lineup of classics.

Nintendo Switch Save Data will be backed up using a new cloud service.
