Eddie Hearn Announces American Streaming Service

DAZN and parent company Perform Group announced Thursday afternoon that they've signed an eight-year, $1 billion deal with boxing promoter Matchroom Boxing, which will cover 16 new fight nights a year from venues across the US plus Matchroom's existing 16 fight nights annually in Britain. This will be a platform built by fans for fans from the fights, to the production and presentation team to the build-up'. "If you're out there, if you don't have a promotional contract, if you're a world-class fighter, we want you".

'This is an historic moment for Matchroom and the world of boxing. Hearn intends to showcase 16 Matchroom promoted cards in America this year, along with another 16 from Great Britain.

Hearn and his father, Barry, will meet with Ralph Rimmer, the Rugby Football League's interim chief executive, to look more closely into rugby league's "internal structure" amid ongoing speculation that they could attempt to revitalise the sport.

Hearn has reportedly targeted WBC heavyweight title holder Deontay Wilder - who could face WBO, IBF and WBA champion Joshua in a unification fight deal - as one of his first American signings.

Perform Group is a major global provider of digital sports properties, including editorial content (such as Goal.com and Sporting News), tactical technology (Opta Sports), and streaming OTT (DAZN, pronounced "Da Zone"). "You've seen us do it in the U.K.", Hearn said. We have got a great relationship with him.

Now Hearn is all-in on the U.S, market with the backing of Perform Group, whose DAZN (pronounced "Da Zone") sports streaming service, which is already available in places such as Japan, Germany and Canada, will launch in the U.S.in June.

Federal Geologists: Hawaii Volcano Could Have Explosive Eruption
Fourteen fissures have opened since Kilauea started spraying fountains of lava up to 300 feet. Volcanic vents and lava flows have destroyed 36 structures since Kilauea erupted on Thursday.

"A groundbreaking deal in the history of the sport", Hearn said.

As part of the deal, DAZN US viewers will also be able to watch Matchroom's 16 fight nights a year from the United Kingdom, and Deyner today said more sports would be added to the service when it launches later this year. "Recently, we made our move into boxing in America, but there were certain things that I needed to be able to take boxing here to a new level, to build a stable that is unrivaled".

"America - we have well and truly arrived, let the fun begin".

'I've never met a platform like these guys who understand the landscape of boxing to the point that it's a bit like the (Anthony) Joshua - it's not a deal based on Anthony Joshua, of course they want Anthony Joshua.

"This is a brand-new era for boxing in the U.S.", Hearn said during a news conference in the Rainbow Room's loft, adding: "We are going to upset a lot of people, but it's going to be a great journey".

Hearn said the reason he wanted to unveil the plans now even though DAZN hasn't yet formally announced its arrival in the US and the boxing won't begin until September is because "I'm talking to all these fighters".
