First lady's 'don't care' jacket is a gift to memers online

First lady's 'don't care' jacket is a gift to memers online

Earlier this week, the First Lady caused an uproar after donning an "I Really Don't Care, Do U?" cargo jacket to visit ICE detention centers near the U.S. -Mexico border.

Donald Trump, however, tweeted that his wife's jacket was indeed meant to send a message, but not about the immigrant children.

Mrs Trump changed into a pale yellow jacket before the plane landed in McAllen, Texas, for a visit to the Upbring New Hope Children's Centre, which houses 55 migrant children.

The first lady's visit comes as President Donald Trump's administration has separated members of families that cross United States borders illegally, sending thousands of children to holding camps around the country.

Melania Trump's tone-deaf jacket from her trip to Texas prompted clothing company Wildfang to release their own version in response and their's sold out in just one hour.

Hamilton wins French GP to retake lead in F1 title race
Ricciardo was quick to point to Hamilton's new engine as a factor even before its introduction was confirmed by Mercedes . He stopped for new tyres on lap 33, momentarily losing the lead, before regaining it when Raikkonen stopped a lap later.

"She supports family reunification", Ms Grisham added. The jacket featured the phrase "I really don't care, do u?" which sparked much discussion over the intent of the message.

Showing the warm welcome she received, one photo posted by the 48-year-old shows her shaking hands with a man in front of a painting of the U.S. flag, with "Welcome!"

Emma McIlroy, chief executive of the Wildfang clothing company told the Thomson Reuters Foundation that the new jackets were designed and ready for sale the same day as the visit of Melania to Texas. However, his policy of criminally prosecuting illegal border-crossers remains. She also said the first lady's visit with the children in Texas "impacted @flotus greatly". "First Lady" written on it.

While Trump told a Wednesday campaign crowd that he'd fixed the family separation issue, his administration has not revealed a plan to reunite at least 1995 children USA officials separated from their families. "She wants to see what's real", the first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told CNN. Her choice of accompanying garment, though, has left many to speculate on her true feelings about the policy that has so far left over 2,300 children stranded away from their parents. "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope this isn't what the media is going to choose to focus on", she said. She thanked the staff for their compassion and kindness and said she wanted to hear more about how her husband's administration could build on efforts to reunite children with their families.
