George Clooney suffers minor injuries in Italy scooter crash

George Clooney suffers minor injuries in Italy scooter crash

George Clooney was taken to hospital for treatment after a motorcycle accident in Sardinia, Italian media has reported.

Sardinian hospital John Paul II says Clooney has already been discharged, according to NBC News.

According to a report from TMZ, Clooney became a human projectile and flew 20 feet in the air and over the vehicle he hit.

It's thought he has sustained a hip injury from the incident and has since been released from hospital. Clooney described himself as being "banged up", CNN said. While it's possible that these details are rather exaggerated, considering TMZ's history of treating rumors as facts, there have been enough reports to verify that Clooney's accident was quite serious.

Clooney was actually thrown from his motorbike scooter when he was hit by a auto, according to BBC, as he was leaving his hotel in Costa Corallina.

Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani, meanwhile, spoke to the actor.

LeBron James faces Friday deadline on whether to test free agency
LeBron James has informed the Cleveland Cavaliers he will not exercise his $35.6 million option and will become a free agent. The most feasible path for James to go to Houston was by picking up his action and demanding a trade to the Rockets .

A representative for Clooney didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. George suffered a broken rib and some other scrapes and bruises, while Sarah was diagnosed with a broken foot.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine, " Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press.

He was said to be travelling 60mph at the time when the auto reportedly changed direction suddenly and collided with the bike.

La Nuova also reports that George's wife, Amal Clooney, rushed to be by his side when she heard news of his hospitalization.

George and Amal were seen arrive in the island on a private jet at the end of June with their twins Alexander and Ella.
