Kremlin expects Putin-Trump talks to pave way for mending ties

Kremlin expects Putin-Trump talks to pave way for mending ties

French President Emmanuel Macron will discuss Syria, Iran and Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin when they meet in Moscow on Sunday, the day of the soccer World Cup final between France and Croatia, a source at the French president's office said.

Trump plans to meet one-on-one with Putin at the start of their first formal summit talks in Helsinki, Finland, before allowing other aides to participate.

"This is our six metre (19-foot) high inflatable of the president of United States as an orange skinned, angry baby with tiny, tiny hands and a constipated, malevolent expression on his face", said "Trump babysitter" Leo Murray.

"The indictment charges twelve Russian military officers by name for conspiring to interfere with the 2016 presidential election", Rosenstein announced at a press conference at the Department of Justice just after 12:00 PM eastern.

Trump cautioned that it was hard to do substantive deals with Russia because his opponents would say that he was too pro-Russian.

In February, 13 Russians and three Russian companies were charged with interfering with the election.

"It's on", spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

The announcement of the indictments came at the same time as Trump arrived for his much-anticipated meeting with Queen Elizabeth II during his London visit.

"President Trump should cancel his meeting with Vladimir Putin until Russian Federation takes demonstrable and transparent steps to prove that they won't interfere in future elections", Schumer said.

Trump's assessment of the impediments to improving US-Russia relations may not jive with the US government's.

England soccer manager Gareth Southgate sought insights from the NFL
The lads deserve it, they've been brilliant and worked so hard to get here. "You won't find a better team - Sweden are world champions of team spirit".

Then he quipped: 'There won't be a Perry Mason here, I don't think.

Asked at the end of the press conference whether he would tell Putin to stay out of USA elections, Trump responded simply: 'Yes'.

A spokeswoman for House Speaker Paul Ryan, asked whether Trump should meet one-on-one with Putin, responded by saying that "we know Russian Federation meddled in our elections and we're glad these hackers are being held to account".

Under Trump, the department has issued regular stinging critiques of Russian Federation, including on human rights and press freedom.

"I've never seen a President say anything as odd and counterproductive as President Trump's harangue against North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and Germany", Kerry wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona, a frequent critic of the president, said Trump needs to do more than ask. "If we can do something to substantially reduce them [nuclear weapons], I mean, ideally get rid of them, maybe that's a dream, but certainly it's a subject that I'll be bringing up with him", Trump stressed.

"Today's charges include no allegations of knowing involvement by anyone on the campaign and no allegations that the alleged hacking affected the election result", it said. "Putin is not a good guy, he's evil, and so we've got to make sure we get out of this meeting that should have never happened in the first place without doing something that's not helpful", he said.

"But it makes it very hard to do something with Russian Federation. Anything you do, it's always going to be, 'Oh, Russia, he loves Russia"'.

They are also accused of stealing the data of half a million voters from a state election board website, the BBC report said.
