In Tehran meeting, Iranian President warns N. Korean FM about "unreliable" US

In Tehran meeting, Iranian President warns N. Korean FM about

"It's pretty clear to us that they were trying to use that exercise to send a message to us that as we approach this period of the sanctions here that they had some capabilities", Votel told reporters at the Pentagon. At current market rates, the imports are worth some $15 billion a year.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani - who insists that its nuclear programme is entirely peaceful - has accused Mr Trump of waging "psychological warfare", and ruled out face-to-face talks with him while the sanctions remain in place.

"The performance of the USA government over the years is such that today the United States is recognized as an unreliable country in the world that does not adhere to any of its obligations", the President said, calling for the "expansion of relations and cooperation" between Tehran and Pyongyang.

China and Germany defended their business ties with Iran on Wednesday in the face of President Donald Trump's warning that any companies trading with the Islamic Republic would be barred from the United States.

According to Rouhani's own Mehr press agency, he also spoke of the United States withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, saying the move resulted in complete loss of faith in Washington.

Washington's unilateral anti-Iran campaign has nothing to do with worldwide law and fair trade, and thus the threat of potential sanctions won't affect Beijing's sovereign right to freely choose its business partners.

"China has consistently opposed unilateral sanctions and long-armed jurisdiction", the Chinese foreign ministry said in a faxed statement to Reuters, responding to questions on the new U.S. sanctions and Trump's threats on firms doing business with Iran.

US Believes North Korea Still Building Missiles
North Korea has carried out a total of six nuclear tests, the most recent of which took place in September past year . He declined to say whether Pyongyang is building new missiles. "Things don't change overnight", Conway later added.

Trump said Monday that he was open to new talks to reach a "more comprehensive deal" with Iran. "I am asking for WORLD PEACE, nothing less!" he tweeted.

"Wherever you see Iranian activity, you see Qassem Soleimani".

President Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal in May, calling it "disaster".

Despite the political will to hold firm, many large European firms such as German automaker Daimler are leaving Iran for fear of USA penalties.

His visit to Iran is the first by a high-ranking DPRK delegation since August past year, when President of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam and vice foreign minister Choe Hui Chol spent several days in the country.

Many hope and believe that Iran's leaders will "drink the poison cup" and negotiate with the U.S. eventually.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the renewed sanctions as "an important moment for Israel, for the USA, for the region, for the whole world".
