Carolina Panthers: 3 Big takeaways from Preseason Week 1

Kelvin Benjamin just brushed off Cam Newton like a defensive back. leaving Cam hanging on a high five and exchanging heated words with the QB - and it's all on video.

Benjamin had plenty to say in an interview that came out last Saturday, calling his tenure in Carolina a "bad fit from the get-go" and speculating he might have been more successful had he played with "any other quarterback".

Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton met up publicly and talked ahead of the Bills and Panthers preseason game Thursday.

Benjamin said he "wasn't even trying to listen" to Newton when he approached him and that he's "moving on" from what he said about the quarterback. Newton engaged Benjamin briefly before the receiver, who called out his former quarterback just a few days ago, started to amble away. "It just felt like I wasn't in that position".

Newton did not speak to the media postgame. Newton finished 6-of-9 for 84 yards while Benjamin hauled in four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Benjamin's comments with The Athletic brought the conflict into the spotlight.
