Samsung Galaxy Note officially presented

Galaxy Note 9 comes powered by a Snapdragon 845 chip coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU/Exynos 9810 processor coupled with a Mali-G72MP18 GPU.

The South Korean giant announced that the smartphone will be available globally from August 24 and for the India market, it will be manufactured at the company's largest mobile manufacturing plant in Noida. Behind the 6.4-inch screen of the Note 9, Samsung have hidden their largest ever battery at 4000mAh which they claim will power the phone for a whole day. The Note also got curved edges before that became standard on Samsung's flagship phones. A dual-lens camera, with better zooming, came to the Note 8 months before the S9 Plus got it, for instance.

Even though the improvements from last year aren't huge, Technalysis Research analyst Bob O'Donnell said they will come across as major for those who haven't upgraded for a few years. Like the Apple Pencil, Samsung says its new S Pen can be used for 30 minutes after less than a minute of charging (which automatically occurs when you pop it back into its holster).

Samsung has unveiled a new flagship phone and smartwatch, as well as previewing its new smart home speaker during a busy event in NY. Purists can turn the feature off to get images that reflect what the eye sees - an option unavailable with Pixel. The key reason why a person invests in a Note-series device is the stylus capability. The camera will also alert you to any imperfections in your shot, like if it's too blurry or if someone blinked at the wrong time.

The Android version of the popular game Fortnite is launching Thursday, and just as the rumors suggested, it will be available exclusively on Samsung devices, at least for a few days.

The Galaxy Watch, revealed at the company's worldwide event in Brooklyn overnight, will be the first Samsung smartwatch with its own mobile internet connection, and the first wearable technology in Australia that will connect to mobile networks overseas, allowing Aussie travellers to access maps and stay in contact while on holidays. It promises quality sound, in a potential challenge to Apple's Siri-based HomePod speaker. Samsung's current speaker, the Invoke, uses Microsoft's Cortana assistant. The new smart speaker also supports Spotify music streaming service.
