Dedryck Boyata: Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers not drawn on defender's future

Dedryck Boyata: Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers not drawn on defender's future

The Hoops knocked back a £9million offer for the Belgian central defender from Fulham last week and the Turks are said to have at least matched that figure.

Celtic suffered a 2-1 defeat to AEK Athens this evening that now sees the Scot's side slip into the Europa League.

The Scottish cahmpions have qualified for the Champions League for both of Brendan Rodgers' previous seasons at Celtic Park, but this year they could not overcome AEK Athens in the third qualifying round, as they lost 3-2 on aggregate.

Boyata responded by posting a video of him receiving treatment.

"Unfortunately I could not play tomorrow because I'm not yet 100% operational but I'm with all my teammates to bring the qualification". His upturn in form earned him a World Cup call-up for Belgium and he played against England in a group stage fixture in the absence of Vincent Kompany. I put ice for 30 minutes on my leg and, the next day, I specified I had pains.

Hurricane John weakens a little off Mexican coast
Combined with high tides, this could lead to some overwash of low-lying coastal areas and perhaps some beach erosion. A tropical storm watch was in effect for a much broader swath of coast, from Los Barilles to Todos Santos.

That followed comments from Boyata's agent stating Celtic had blocked a potential transfer.

The Celtic fans have taken to Twitter after the game, with Hayes being slammed for a poor performance.

Boyata's contract with Celtic only has one year remaining, which Sevilla are hoping will help reduce the price of the player, who is reportedly keen to leave the Glasgow club for Sevilla.

"They have done it with so many players - Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama and Stuart Armstrong in the summer - so I would imagine they would sell Dedryck".

Meanwhile, former Celtic winger Patrick Roberts is reportedly joining La Liga side Girona on loan from Manchester City.
