Mobile suffers data breach affecting 2.2 million customers

Mobile suffers data breach affecting 2.2 million customers

This is not the first time this year that T-Mobile's cybersecurity practices have come under scrutiny. Credit card numbers, social security numbers and passwords weren't accessed, the company noted. Where many companies drag their heels and wait months to share news of unauthorized access, T-Mobile let its customers know within just a few days.

The hack attack took place on Monday, August 20, and while T-Mobile stresses that no financial data was taken, it concedes that it detected "unauthorized capture of some information".

The third most popular mobile network in the U.S., T-Mobile, has suffered a data breach that affected more than two million of its customers.

T-Mobile today confirmed that it was affected by a security breach.

Aretha Franklin reportedly declined offer to sing at Trump's inauguration
Robinson's admiration for her only grew over the decades. "Do you think your songs were the anthem for the Civil Rights Movement? " he asked.

T-Mobile says that all affected customers have, or soon will be, notified. Passwords for T-Mobile accounts were also not compromised.

In plenty of other breach incidents, companies have realised what happened only after they were contacted by a third-party researcher, by the attackers themselves, or, in the worst-case scenario, by customers reporting fraud attempts.

The telco company is redirecting all anxious customers to its customer care service available via phone call, its official website, or Apple iMessage and Business Chat. That would put the breach at around 3.9 million customers, still a considerable number. "We truly regret that this incident occurred and are so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you".
