Elon Musk Smokes Weed With Joe Rogan - And It's All On Camera

Elon Musk Smokes Weed With Joe Rogan - And It's All On Camera

The Tesla's chief accounting officer, Dave Morton, resigned Tuesday after only a month on the job.

Morton joined Tesla on August 6, one day before Musk's infamous tweet claiming that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private. Elon Musk has continued to self-inflict PR disasters one after another, and not only that, but there is a disturbing trend of top talent bailing out on the automaker.

Shortly after his announcement, Bloomberg reported that Tesla's chief people officer, Gabrielle Toledano, would not return to the company after a leave of absence.

Musk, 47, sipped whiskey during a more than 2 1/2-hour podcast interview with comedian Joe Rogan late Thursday that touched on topics from flame throwers and artificial intelligence to the end of the universe.

"This caused me to reconsider my future", Morton said.

Rogan offered him what he called "marijuana inside of tobacco", and joked that shareholders wouldn't approve.

During the show, Musk said he "almost never" smoked.

John McCain's final words: A farewell letter to America
Bowing to pressure, President Donald Trump on Monday ordered American flags at USA buildings lowered to half-staff for Sen. The Naval Academy tweeted that it was mourning the loss of McCain, "one of our most distinguished graduates".

Tesla is under extreme pressure to turn a sustained net profit starting this quarter, as promised by Mr Musk, but in the second quarter it burned through $739.5 million (€648m) in cash and lost a quarterly record $717.5 million (€620m).

Soon after, Musk changed his mind and said he decided the company would remain public.

He went on to say that running Tesla was the "hardest" job he has: "It's very difficult to keep a vehicle company alive".

Now, with the company set on staying public, its finances are under extreme scrutiny from investors and analysts as it fights to become profitable. The Palo Alto, California-based company faces concerns about its limited cash balance, maturing debt and struggle to steadily build high volumes of the Model 3 sedan, the first electric vehicle that Musk has attempted to mass-manufacture. "Tesla 1st, 2nd & 3rd in August sales", Musk tweeted.

The report, which was published by electric car-themed news site InsideEVs, estimated that the Tesla Model 3, Model S, and Model X, were the Top 3 electric cars in the USA in August.

The ill-fated effort has prompted a USA securities investigation and a class-action lawsuit alleging Musk was trying to punish investors who bet against the company.

Tesla has long faced frequent executive turnover as the company faces intense pressure to succeed.
