President Trump mocks Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony

President Donald Trump defended his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's qualifications - amid allegations of sexual misconduct against him - during a stump speech for U.S. Sen.

Christine Blasey Ford during a campaign rally in MS, just days after calling her a "very credible witness". Lawyers for PJ Smyth and Leland Ingham Keyser, who Ford says were at the house at the time of her attack, said their clients are cooperating with authorities.

"What neighbourhood was it in?" "'I don't know. But I had one beer. I don't know", he continued. I don't know. But I had one beer. "God, I hope you never get it".

"Every single word Judge Kavanaugh has said has been picked apart, every single word., second by second of his testimony has been picked apart. There's no time or place, but particularly, to discuss something so sensitive at a political rally is just wrong", Flake told CNN's Raju.

"And when I see what's going on right now, it's scary", adding that at the moment he fears more for his sons. "It's kind of appalling". She declined to say if it would affect her vote.

Asked whether Trump's comments would affect her vote, Murkowski told reporters, "I am taking everything into account".

With the midterm elections just weeks away, Republicans risk losing the House and possibly the Senate as they face an energised Democratic party - particularly educated, suburban women and minorities.

Three Republican senators who are on the fence about the Kavanaugh confirmation criticized Trump's remarks.

In a separate remarks, the president's son Donald Trump Jr said he was more anxious for his sons than his daughters in the current climate which they see being tilted against men.

Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has said Friday would be too soon.

After Ford's testimony last week, Trump had called her a "very credible witness".

FBI investigators had not reached out to a third woman who said she witnessed Kavanaugh engage in "inappropriate contact of a sexual nature with women in the early 1980s", her attorney, Michael Avenatti, wrote on Twitter early Sunday morning. Kavanaugh vehemently denies the accusation. Trump trashed Ford even though the FBI is looking into the matter, virtually prejudging the outcome of the limited investigation.

Republican Senator John Kennedy said the Federal Bureau of Investigation report should be made public.

A 21-year-old man accused Kavanaugh of throwing ice on him "for some unknown reason", according to the report obtained by the Times. Opposition to Kavanaugh grew 4 percentage points after the hearing, apparently driven by people who previously were undecided.

"I think both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh are victims at the hands of the Democrats", she said.

A month later, in August, Kilmeade lamented that former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman had "outsmarted the president" by writing a tell-all book about his chaotic administration.

Democrats are conducting a "full-fledged smear campaign" against the nominee, Sanders said during her prepared opening remarks.
