Trump, Rosenstein meet on Air Force One in wake of ‘wire’ report

WASHINGTON: Donald Trump said Monday he does not plan to fire the deputy attorney general in charge of an explosive probe into alleged collusion between the president and the Kremlin.

"Rudy Giuliani when he was mayor of New York City had a very strong program of stop and frisk and it went from an unacceptably risky city to one of the safest cities in the country", Trump said Monday. "It works and it was meant for problems like Chicago".

The stop-and-frisk policy in New York City is a practice of temporarily detaining and questioning and sometimes searching people for weapons or contraband. "And I think the safest big city in the country".

If Trump is saying the Chicago Police Department should "do" stop and frisk, it already is.

The association represents some 30,000 members of law enforcement within 150 countries.

Pompeo to meet Kim Jong Un in fresh visit
In recent weeks, North Korea has demanded nearly daily that the United States sign an end-of-war declaration. On Saturday, Trump lavished praise on Kim and said they had fallen "in love" after exchanging letters.

The law enforcement group pushed back on Trump's remarks, saying that "managing use of force is one of the most hard challenges faced by law enforcement agencies". "This is the bedrock principle behind the concepts of procedural justice and police legitimacy".

Thank you as well to our Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for being here.

The White House says that the President's Monday appearance was not a campaign rally, despite the fact that he has thrown his support behind Governor Rick Scott's run for Senate and Florida Republican Gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis. I look forward to being with him. The article said that while Rosenstein had made the suggestions over concern about chaos in the administration, none of them actually came to fruition.

Trump said Kavanaugh would be "a faithful defender of the rule of law".

Washington was briefly abuzz on September 24 when Rosenstein headed to the White House to meet with chief of staff John Kelly, but reports that the retired Marine Corps general was handing him a pink slip turned out to be inaccurate.

Rosenstein and Trump delayed a planned September 27 one-on-one meeting until Monday to allow Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's contentious confirmation process to play out.
