Arizona Cardinals’ CB Patrick Peterson Requests Trade

Arizona Cardinals’ CB Patrick Peterson Requests Trade

It does not come as a surprise that Peterson wants out of Arizona, as this season has been a disaster.

A tweet from Bryant McFadden, Peterson's cousin, says Peterson's No. 1 landing spot is the Saints.

The culture and players around Peterson have led to the request, according to a former Cardinal. Peterson requested a trade from the Cardinals on Monday. We knew already that the Saints are looking hard at cornerbacks throughout the league, so here's four names to follow in case a big move for Peterson doesn't materialize before next Tuesday's trade deadline.

The asking price for Peterson would be expected to be a second- or third-round pick, considering his skill set makes his value worth a first-rounder.

Thunder star out for season opener vs. Warriors
That last slot is typically designated for Stephen Curry , the cornerstone of the franchise and leader of its historic turnaround. This season's team will split the difference between last season's "Ugh, do we have to?" campaign and the 2015-16 tour de force.

Peterson has spent his entire career with the Cardinals since being selected fifth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft and has been named to seven consecutive Pro Bowls while earning three first-team All-Pro selections.

In seven games this season, the 28-year-old Peterson has 35 tackles and two interceptions. It would be best for them to field offers and only give away the dynamic defensive back for the one that truly blows their mind.

Who would and could get Peterson?

It will be interesting to see the Cardinals roster over the next week. The addition of Peterson would surely take their defense over the top and help them out down the stretch.
