Dead Brothel Owner, Reality TV Star Wins Nevada Assembly Seat

Dead Brothel Owner, Reality TV Star Wins Nevada Assembly Seat

He portrayed himself as a Donald-Trump style Republican, calling himself the "Trump from Pahrump".

Signs were posted at polling places to inform voters in the district that Hof had died, but Republicans launched a campaign encouraging people to still vote for him and prevent the seat from falling into Democratic hands.

Dennis Hof, self-proclaimed pimp whose Donald Trump-inspired run for the state legislature drew national attention, was found dead on October 16.

Freaky though it may seem, Dennis Hof - who, as it happens, is also the owner of one of Nevada's most famous brothels - still won enough votes to be elected to the state legislature despite having been found dead on October 16.

"There are a lot of Republicans who were uncomfortable voting for Dennis because of the nature of his business and they now know that he is not the one who will be serving", Muth told Reuters last month.

Mr Hof ran as an outspoken Republican for Nevada's Assembly District 36 before his death at the age of 72.

Hof's campaign manager, Chuck Muth, tweeted: "I just confirmed with Nye County sheriff's deputy that Dennis Hof passed away this morning".

Apple Debuts Thinner, Lighter & Faster MacBook Air With Retina Display
MacBook Air also features the third-generation Apple-designed keyboard for more precise and responsive typing. All of that with pretty much the same battery life promises as before - up to 12 hours of web browsing.

He also starred in the HBO adult reality series Cathouse and wrote a book titled The Art of the Pimp, akin to Trump's book The Art of the Deal.

Hof had celebrated his birthday the day before with a party attended by porn star Ron Jeremy and other guests.

The brothel where his body was found is where National Basketball Association player Lamar Odom was found unconscious in 2015. They're banned in counties that contain Las Vegas and Reno, and the state does not publicize how many are open.

He ran for office in 2016 as a Libertarian but lost. He said this was the best year ever.

Hof was accused of sexual assault at least four times, most recently in September.

When Hof died, it was already too late to remove his name from the ballot, and ballots had already been printed and mailed.
