Couple who dropped engagement ring in Times Square utility grate located

Couple who dropped engagement ring in Times Square utility grate located

Police in NY are looking for a couple who got engaged in Times Square on Friday (November 30) but lost the ring right after the man popped the question. Times Square's official website even offers help for people who want to go big with a proposal on one of its famous billboards. The man popped the question in the middle of Times Square, police said, and then lost hold of the engagement ring.

The couple had already returned back to their home country.

They asked for help, but police were initially unsuccessful at getting the ring out.

Police have released surveillance photos of the couple and are asking the public to help reunite them with the ring.

It fell about 2.4 metres, police said.

It promises to confirm investor expectations that the Fed will raise its interest rate when it meets later this month. The law creating the Fed says such officials can be "removed for cause".

"We still haven't found our "almost engaged" couple WANTED for dropping their ring in Times Square. We're making arrangements to get them their ring back", the NYPD tweeted.

Speaking to BBC News on Sunday evening, he said he had carried the ring around in his pocket for two days before finding the right moment.

NYPD Police Commissioner James P. O'Neill confirmed that the couple had been in touch.

A CCTV video captured the aftermath when John Drennan and Daniella Anthony failed to retrieve the ring from inside a subway grate, despite dozens of passersby helping them search for two hours. "I hope the couple is found soon", a Twitter user wrote.
