EPL: Klopp praises hat-trick hero Salah after Liverpool win

Mohamed Salah scored his second hat-trick for Liverpool to fire Jurgen Klopp's side to the top of the Premier League table courtesy of a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth this afternoon.

The Reds moved top of the Premier League - temporarily, at least, with Manchester City facing Chelsea later on Saturday - by extending their unbeaten start to the top-flight season to 16 games with an impressive display at the Vitality Stadium.

Liverpool were the better team from the first whistle and punished Bournemouth as they failed to press, bagging the opener just before half-time.

"I can't avoid it if people want to discuss Daniel, but on the other side I said what I had to say about that after the game and different opinions are allowed, obviously".

"We stayed in the game in all of the games, and fought back like at Burnley". That's everything I can say today.

"I understand clearly there were reasons for the second half not being as good as the first, but still a good result, an important result", he said.

It's a tease of a battle brewing between Dany, the North, the Lannisters, and the Night King we expect to occur next season. To tide the show's millions of viewers over, HBO has released a first look at the season with a Fire and Ice trailer.

After an even opening, Bournemouth went mightily close to the first goal, as David Brooks was released into the left side of the penalty area and Alisson stopped the shot squeezing inside his near post.

The hosts were without injured top-scorer Callum Wilson, whereas Liverpool were able to welcome the likes of Salah, Roberto Firmino and Andrew Robertson back into their starting lineup, while James Milner made his 500th Premier League appearance. "500 games", he said whilst passing the prize to Milner. It is Bournemouth celebrating day.

Liverpool face a tough week ahead - they play Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday with their hopes of progressing to the knockout phase in the balance and Manchester United next weekend. He can win you a game on his own.

The Egyptian had a lot to thank the linesman for, appearing to be standing offside before the goal but there was no doubting his second and third strikes.

Third-placed Tottenham face a hard trip to play Leicester City, and coach Mauricio Pochettino must decide whether or not to rest players for their forthcoming Champions League visit to the Camp Nou, where they have to beat Barcelona in order to qualify for the tournament's knockout stage.

Salah said: "We're top of the table and I scored three goals so it was a fantastic win today - and a clean sheet too". We've got to keep our foot on the gas.
