Trump vows to nominate Chief of Staff soon

Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) signaled his willingness to join the Trump administration as White House chief of staff.

See that tweet below as well.

Meadows now chairs the House Freedom Caucus, making him the most conservative choice of those likely to run. Some whose names were floated for the position say they're not interested in running Trump's White House. That problem is only exacerbated by the departures of two White House aides in recent days: the political director Bill Stepien and Justin Clark, the director of the office of public liaison.

Trump has asked his closest advisers about tapping the North Carolina Republican to lead his administration in addition to three other people, Axios reported, though it could not confirm any other candidates.

Both John Kelly and Reince Priebus are arguably worse off now than before taking on the job of imposing order and discipline on Trump's chaotic administration.

Following the deadly white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville in 2017, Kelly was reportedly furious at Trump's tepid response, and said he would have taken a "resignation letter and shoved it up his arse six different times", according to sources in journalist Bob Woodward's White House tell-all, "Fear: Trump in the White House".

However, Trump's anger seems to be limited because Ayers will leave his position as Pence's chief of staff at the end of the year to run the super PAC set up to assist the President's re-election campaign.

Mexico starts moving some migrants to new shelter
US authorities say assailants threw a "hail of rocks" at agents, striking four who escaped serious injury. Asylum seekers are often released in the US pending the outcome of their cases in immigration court.

Partisan rhetoric in Washington is intensifying, as new court filings suggest President Trump may have skirted campaign finance laws. Meadows said he hasn't spoken directly with the president since Ayers's withdrawal on Sunday. According to Sherman, Trump was also mad that Kelly had been "badmouthing" him.

As Democrats search for a candidate to run in the next elections in late 2020, James Comey - the former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief abruptly fired by Trump after he came to power - said voters must "use every breath we have to make sure the lies stop on 20 January 2021".

Other names mentioned by some White House aides and advisers include David Bossie, who was Mr Trump's deputy campaign manager in 2016, and former New Jersey governor Chris Christie.

"This White House is headed into a world of trouble - a Democratic Congress, Mueller closing in, and anybody who comes into this White House has to be thinking about lawyering up".

There was also a significant resistance inside the West Wing to Ayers becoming chief of staff, two sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN.

In an interview on Breitbart News Sunday with Amanda House on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel on Sunday evening, Gohmert endorsed Meadows for chief of staff as well. Mulvaney has been saying for nearly two months now that he would be more interested in becoming commerce or treasury secretary if that would be helpful to the president, the person said. The father of young children, Ayers had agreed to serve in an interim capacity though the spring, but Trump wanted a two-year commitment.
