Netflix Wants People to Stop Hurting Themselves with the 'Bird Box' Challenge

Netflix Wants People to Stop Hurting Themselves with the 'Bird Box' Challenge

"Can't believe I have to say this", a spokesperson on the official Netflix Twitter account tweeted out.

Netflix issued a warning on Wednesday to viewers taking part in the so-called "Bird Box" challenge after the new movie inspired people to do everyday tasks blindfolded. Videos posted online have shown people walking down stairs, stumbling around in the woods or otherwise freaking out while blindfolded.

In Bird Box, main character Malorie (Sandra Bullock) is trying to get her two children to a sanctuary located at the end of a long river, and they must remain blindfolded at all times. Why? 'We don't know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes'.

The 2002 ‘Raimi Suit’ Is Now Available In ‘Spider-Man’
The third DLC chapter, Silver Lining finds Silver Sable has stormed back to reclaim her stolen Sable International tech. You might've assumed this would happen in a Star Trek movie but friends and neighbors, it did not.

Netflix is begging its fans of the new psychological thriller Bird Box to refrain from participating in the viral #BirdBoxChallenge for their safety. There are already countless videos of people getting physically hurt partaking in the challenge, and now Netflix has urged people to be careful. While many of these videos are amusing to watch, Netflix wants to be sure that people are being careful and that no one winds up hurting themselves.

This is what had led people to try the Bird Box Challenge. "Bird Box Challenge completed", joked a Twitter user with a questionable username.

"I was kind of shocked after looking for my Bird Box review on Friday to see the zone so flooded with memes nearly as if they had been pre-made, waiting in a folder on an intern's computer... ready to launch at 2:00AM ET", she tweeted.
