Jermain Defoe To Join Rangers On An 18-Month Loan Deal

Jermain Defoe To Join Rangers On An 18-Month Loan Deal

Steven Gerrard has only been a manager for a few months, but he looks set to make his 16th new addition to the Rangers squad as Jermain Defoe looks to be on his Glasgow.

Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has admitted that he would relish the chance to play under Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

Rangers are closing in on a loan swoop for Defoe which many at the club feel would be a massive coup, albeit largely based on the false assumption that the diminutive 36-year-old journeyman is in fact a towering 16-year-old prodigy.

Jermain Defoe is set to join Rangers on an 18-month loan and Shanley confirms a deal to bring Steven Davis, who is now the Southampton club captain, back to the club is still in the pipeline.

"Look, if a player is willing to come and play in Scotland then we'll roll out the red carpet", our source continued.

The 2016 signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers has made close to 100 appearances for the club, but he now has strong competition in the form of Tom Cairney, Jean Michael Seri, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Stefan Johansen.

Solskjaer has restored positivity to United, says Shaw
He was also inches away from completing a hat-trick when Asmir Begovic tipped his shot on to a post. Rashford has been the starting striker under Solskjaer in all three games.

Steven Davis is also likely to sign for the Scottish club over the next few days. "He has done a lot for this club".

"They are players, certainly Jordan Jones is one that's been on Rangers' radar for a while".

"They've been able to sign Jermain Defoe on that 18-month loan deal", he continued. Despite landing nearly a completely new squad, it seems like the former Liverpool captain still isn't finished in the transfer market.

Rangers now sit second in the Scottish Premier League table, level on points with Celtic, but with a poorer goal differential and having played one more game.

Morelos had three separate incidents where he unnecessarily lashed out at Celtic players during the game at Ibrox at the end of December.
