Wisconsin Teen Jayme Closs' Bravery Credited for Cracking Missing Person's Case: Sheriff

Wisconsin Teen Jayme Closs' Bravery Credited for Cracking Missing Person's Case: Sheriff

According to Douglas County Sheriff Tom Dalbec, Gordon police located and arrested Mr Patterson thanks to a description of his vehicle that Jayme provided.

Jayme Closs was found after she went missing in October.

The woman, who asked the newspaper not to use her name, said she was almost certain it was Jayme, having seen her photo on the news and posters around Wisconsin. At the time, authorities believe Closs was inside her home when her parents were killed, but was gone by the time deputies arrived at the scene.

The Wisconsin man suspected of kidnapping a girl and killing her parents took steps to hide his identity as he held the teen captive for months, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said Friday.

Jayme's story was helped by The Voice contestant Chris Kroeze, who dedicated his performances to her on his run to the finale of the singing competition.

Jake Patterson is unemployed and has no criminal record in Wisconsin, authorities said.

Jayme, who was evaluated at a hospital, is being interviewed and will be re-united with her family.

As the stunned neighbors stood at the door, Jayme did not say a word.

Patterson is being held in the Barron County jail on suspicion of kidnapping and homicide in the killing of Jayme's parents.

US Border Patrol Unleashes Tear Gas Against Children in Mexico
Amnesty International described the use of tear gas against migrants "cruel and inhumane" and called for an investigation. Most of the migrants returned to Mexico through a hole under the fence and by climbing back over the fence.

Kasinskas said she brought the "slender-looking" girl into her living room and sat down with her.

"There was rumors earlier today, and I prayed and prayed and they come to not be true", said Jayme's aunt, Sue. She was found Thursday in the Wisconsin town of Gordon - about 70 miles north of where she was last seen.

According to a post by the department, Jayme will be reunited with her family Thursday night.

"In cases like this we often need a big break, and it was Jayme herself who gave us that break", FBI Special Agent Justin Tolomeo told reporters Friday during a news conference in Jayme's Wisconsin hometown of Barron. "She just yelled please help me I don't know where I am".

On Thursday, Closs walked away from a cabin where she had been held.

Authorities discovered Jayme was missing on October 15 of a year ago, after her parents - James, 56, and Denise Closs, 46 - were found murdered inside a home on the outskirts of Barron, Wisconsin.

Some tips led officials to recruit 2,000 volunteers for a massive ground search on October 23 but it yielded no clues. It's just a great result we got tonight.

"I've always been a glass half-full kind of guy", Fitzgerald said at the time. She was rescued nine months later.

"It has been 88 days of hope for her safe return, 88 days of prayers for Jayme". She declined food but otherwise appeared okay. "I just can't wait".
