Joe Lieberman, 76, Says AOC, 29, Isn't The Future

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) responded on Twitter Thursday evening to former CT senator and 2000 Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman who told Fox Business that he hoped the young congresswoman was not the "future of the party". In June, she beat Crowley and last November she was elected to Congress. Ocasio-Cortez is now part of the 116th class of Congress, which also happens to be the most diverse, with a record number of women winning seats in the House of Representatives.

The report described lawmakers as fearful of Ocasio-Cortez's ability to swing progressives against more establishment Democrats and anxious to utilize her influence to unite the party.

Some Democrats recently expressed their concern and criticism over her methods to Politico.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has come under fire after it was revealed that her campaign was fined by the state for not providing workers' compensation coverage for a month past year.

According to Politico, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) said, "I'm sure Ms. Cortez means well, but there's nearly an outstanding rule: Don't attack your own people". "We just don't need sniping in our Democratic Caucus".

Trump holds immigration roundtable at border patrol station
Trump told reporters, adding later, "If we don't make a deal, I would say 100 percent but I don't want to say 100 percent". That's according to a congressional aide familiar with the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Her campaign failed to carry comp on its employees for a month, resulting in a fine by the state Workers' Compensation Board, according to several news reports.

"She needs to decide: Does she want to be an effective legislator or just continue being a Twitter star?" a House Democrat anonymously said.

Republicans jumped on the revelations, telling the newspaper that the episode reveals "hypocrisy at its finest" by Ocasio-Cortez.

Lieberman said Thursday that she's too "left-left" to help the Democratic Party be a sustainable political powerhouse. "She doesn't understand how the place works yet". I think she has matured.

In a comparison that Ocasio-Cortez would surely hate, politicos have pointed out that the NY rep. has "Trumpian" tendencies.
