Ukrainian tycoon denies requesting or receiving 2016 polling data from Manafort

Ukrainian tycoon denies requesting or receiving 2016 polling data from Manafort

The pollster, Tony Fabrizio, worked with Manafort on Ukrainian elections before performing polling for the Trump campaign after Manafort came on as campaign chairman.

Manafort was among the first Americans charged in Mueller's investigation and has been among the central characters in the case, having led the campaign during the Republican convention and as, U.S intelligence officials say, Russian Federation was working to sway the election in Trump's favor.

He said that agreement would be a "conspiracy", whether or not the Trump campaign actually got anything of value from the Russians.

Still, the developments of Manafort's court filing Tuesday and the assertions Wednesday about the oligarchs confirm that Manafort had an interest in pocketing cash from a foreign country while he led Donald Trump's campaign. He also did not tell the truth about his meetings with Kilimnik "on more than one occasion" to discuss a Ukrainian peace plan.

Manafort's lawyers maintain that all of their client's misstatements to Mueller "were not intentional" and happened because he was poorly prepared for his meetings with the special counsel, which started days before he pleaded guilty and then began in earnest the day after his September 14 plea hearing.

Another witness, testifying against Manafort under oath, said Manafort and Akhmetov "knew each other well". He also has a March 5 sentencing before Jackson in Washington for his guilty plea on conspiracy against the USA and conspiracy to obstruct justice. They since confirmed that he was interviewed by Mueller's team.

Rod Rosenstein Reportedly Leaving Justice Department After AG Confirmation Hearings
Barr's Senate confirmation hearing begins January 15, which means a confirmation vote at the earliest would occur in mid-February. The newspaper also reported that he suggested secretly recording Mr Trump to expose White House turmoil and dysfunction.

Russia, which illegally annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, wanted a peace plan so the U.S. would remove the sanctions it imposed because of the invasion.

The sharing of the polling data with Kilimnik was revealed this week, despite being redacted in a court filing, due to a formatting error.

Manafort earned millions from his Ukrainian political work over several years, which included wire transfers from Akhmetov and Lyovochkin through offshore bank accounts, prosecutors said at trial.

But that plea deal fell apart after prosecutors accused him of lying.

The filing says that a May 26, 2018, text message exchange with Manafort involved an unidentified "third-party" who was asking permission to name-drop Manafort if the person met with Trump. The lawyers say they don't want a separate hearing before a judge on the lying allegations but will address them instead during the sentencing process.
