Apple just unveiled Apple Arcade, its new game subscription service

Apple just unveiled Apple Arcade, its new game subscription service

Apple's 2016 March event saw the arrival of iPhone SE.

For its soon-to-be unveiled video streaming service, Apple will apparently adopt something similar to a la carte pricing.

Apple's three big hardware markets - smartphones, PCs and tablets - are stagnating.

"We will be testing different options in select countries where members can watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time".

Despite the company's insistence on keeping readers on its own products and platforms, Thompson said it has experimented on other services, highlighting content the Times developed just for Snap Inc's Snapchat app, which helped reach new, younger readers. These include video services such as Starz or ShowTime and possibly HBO also. The subscription fee for Apple's original programming is unknown as of now. The company has only used the Steve Jobs Theater at its new headquarters twice since it opened two years ago.

Apple's official invite to the event hints at its film and television-related plans with the inclusion of an animated film reel countdown and use of the tag line "it's show time". Apple's news and video services will all be talked but how much details of the technology put in will be disclosed is still a dicey topic.

So Apple TV+ is like Netflix? Services revenue reached nearly $11-billion in the holiday quarter, up 19% from a year earlier.

Messi grateful for Betis ovation after breaking Barcelona record
Messi stepped up and curled the free-kick in to the top right-hand corner, leaving Pau Lopez with no chance. Lionel Messi netted the first goal in the 18th minute from a superb free-kick to give Barcelona the lead.

It's widely believed Apple will reveal a Netflix-esque video streaming service. "Now we are going to take games even further with Apple Arcade, the first game subscription service for mobile, desktop and the living room", said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. The revamped App Store will show a bundle of games at a monthly subscription plan.

There are silent predictions that Apple may come forward with a gaming subscription service.

The Cupertino company would collect the monthly subscription fees, then divvy up the revenue to developers, depending on the time users spend playing their games. That's because Apple is taking 50% of the revenue from the service. As we mentioned Apple's March 25 event will kick off at 10am PDT (or 10:30pm IST).

The service will focus on original content, including TV shows and movies from producers such as Damien Chazelle, M Night Shyamalan and Oprah.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are rumoured to be on board.

According to Bloomberg News, the website Vox would also be part of the Apple News effort.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple will reportedly bundle HBO, Straz and Showtime along with its streaming service for only United States dollars 9.99 per month. Netflix and Hulu won't be involved.
