Apple is launching subscription service for mobile and desktop games

Apple is launching subscription service for mobile and desktop games

Apple has launched a television and movie streaming service, Apple TV+, to take on Netflix, Stan and Amazon.

Apple didn't disclose the price of the new service which is set to launch sometime this fall.

Apple has already commissioned programming from Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg. "Apple Card is created to help customers lead a healthier financial life, which starts with a better understanding of their spending so they can make smarter choices with their money, transparency to help them understand how much it will cost if they want to pay over time and ways to help them pay down their balance".

"And Apple are going to be spending $2 billion on original content, so with all this streaming stuff it's a good time top be in the business of making TV shows and movies".

Right before Apple introduced its new credit card, we learned that Apple Pay will begin supporting transit pay in Portland OR in the coming weeks with support rolling out to Chicago, IL, and New York City, NY later this year. Apple also noted Monday that its Apple TV app brings together different streaming services and traditional cable subscriptions. Called Apple News Plus, it'll be embedded into the Apple News app itself. But while numerous big names attached to Apple's video efforts were known beforehand, one significant detail wasn't: How are you actually going to watch any of this? And it will include advanced features built into the iPhone's Apple Pay app to help users manage their money better.

It will be available from fall 2019 in more than 150 countries around the world, including the United Kingdom and USA, and it will appear in its own dedicated section on the App Store app.

Canadian users already access the free Apple News service via the News widget on their iPhones and iPads.

At a special event at its Cupertino campus, Apple today lifted the wraps of its revamped Apple News app, which comes with a new premium subscription service called Apple News+.

For example, rather than pay up front for each game, a subscription to Apple Arcade will give players the opportunity to try any game in the service without risk.

It's not known how much Apple with charge at this stage, but we'll keep you posted when details become available.

One service that won't be available on Apple TV Plus, though, is Netflix, the product's biggest competitor. The Apple/Goldman offering has cash-back, rewards, and promises of privacy, just like every other credit card on the planet.

Apple Arcade will launch in more than 150 countries later this year, including Australia.

Yet while the payment card drew applause during Apple's presentation, some experts were underwhelmed. The TV channels include HBO, Starz, SHOWTIME, CBS All Access, Smithsonian Channel, EPIX, Tastemade, Noggin, MTV Hits and with more to come.

Dsney has also suggested it could bundle Disney+ with ESPN+ and Hulu, of which it owns a majority stake after its acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets.
