Secret Service Director to Leave Trump Administration, Sources Say

"Secret Service has done a fantastic job from Day 1".

Alles' ouster comes after Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson tendered her resignation Sunday night to President Donald Trump, whose support of her had wavered as the administration's immigration policy encountered resistance.

On Friday, after announcing the withdrawal of Vitiello's nomination, Trump told reporters: "Ron's a good man, but we're going in a tougher direction". She added Alles will be "leaving shortly". According to The Washington Post, the criminal complaint filed by Secret Service agent Samuel Ivanovich stated, "Zhang was asked if the true member. was her father, but she did not give a definitive answer".

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Trump has selected career Secret Service official James Murray to lead the agency, saying he will assume the role next month.

A source told CNN that Alles' removal is not connected to recent scrutiny of the Secret Service after a Chinese woman illegally entered the president's Mar-a-Lago club in Florida carrying Chinese passports and a flash drive containing malware.

A fighter under the United Nations backed government prepares his gun during clashes in southern Tripoli, Friday, Sept. 21, 2018. Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French foreign minister, said: "There is a fundamental principle in Libya".

Speaking anonymously, three administration officials told the Associated Press Alles' departure stemmed from a personality conflict within the agency. "Very happy with them".

Who will replace her: Kevin McAleenan, the current US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, will become Acting Secretary after Nielsen's departure.

However, US media report that under US law, the department's undersecretary, Claire Grady, should have been the one to take over for Ms Nielsen as the senior Senate-confirmed official.

"Two other top officials, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Francis Cissna and Office of the General Counsel's John Mitnick are also expected to depart soon, according to one official - raising the prospect of a much broader cleaning of house among the Homeland Security leadership ranks".

A DHS official described the reported firings to CNN as "a near-systematic purge". This access does not afford an individual proximity to the President or other Secret Service protectees.
