Child Possibly Thrown or Pushed from Balcony at MOA, Suspect in Custody

Child Possibly Thrown or Pushed from Balcony at MOA, Suspect in Custody

The child and the suspect did not know each other and investigators are "actively trying to figure out why this occurred", Bloomington, Minnesota, Police Chief Jeff Potts told reporters, according to the Pioneer Press.

Potts said there is no relationship between the suspect and the child or the child's family.

Detectives are also also working with the mall to determine if there is any surveillance video. "Bloomington Police is investigating the incident", it said.

In October 2015, Aranda was accused of throwing glasses in Twin Cities Grill in the mall.

The chaotic scene played out at about 10:15 a.m.in the southeast corner of the mall, with the boy plunging from the third level to the first floor by the escalators near the Michael Kors and Clarks stores.

Julian Assange: Sweden considers reviving rape inquiry
On March 25, WikiLeaks posted a tweet bringing attention to a corruption probe that Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno is facing. USA prosecutors say Assange was part of a criminal conspiracy to hack and steal information harmful to the United States.

Police have said this appears to have been an isolated incident - and there is no threat to the public.

A source at the scene tells WCCO that the person who threw, or possibly pushed, the child fled the mall and was apprehended near the light rail station.

"The child did suffer significant injuries", he said.

"This was a senseless act and words can not truly express our profound shock and sadness", the Mall of America said in a statement. Service resumed just before 11:30 a.m.

A number of Aranda's petty misdemeanors are traffic or parking-related, but some of the charges are for more serious crimes, including his being convicted of a gross misdemeanor in 2015 for disturbing the peace with a police officer, as well as for assault of the fifth degree, with fear of bodily harm. Our immediate and only concern is for the wellbeing of the family and the child, as well as for any individuals who may have witnessed the incident. "We have counseling services available for anyone who may need assistance", the statement continues. Paul area is being held at the Bloomington Police Department.
