Tiger Woods captures fifth Masters golf title — CP NewsAlert

Woods has now gone even better, winning his fifth green jacket amid emotional scenes on Sunday at Augusta, as well as earning praise from as far and wide as golf-mad US President Donald Trump, tennis great Serena Williams, and National Football League legend Tom Brady.

Two years ago he didn't know if he would play golf again, now Tiger Woods has ended an 11 year major drought to claim his fifth US Masters title after an incredible final round at Augusta. His tally of 18 major titles was never going.

Adam Sandler Sets ‘Saturday Night Live’ Hosting Debut For May
On May 4 , Sandler will return to " SNL " to make his hosting debut, alongside musical guest Shawn Mendes. The comedian will return to the show that made him famous for his first hosting gig, Variety reported.

Written off as too old and too beaten up from four back surgeries and multiple knee operations, Woods underwent a back fusion in 2017 and slowly returned to form. Things turned around in 2018, with a win at the Tour Championship his first victory on tour in five years.

In a desperate attempt to get the season's first major across the finish line before the storm hit, officials pushed up start times and sent golfers off in threesomes from both the first and 10th tees.

As is tradition, last year's champion, Patrick Reed, put the jacket on Ryder Cup team-mate Woods and uttered "Yea buddy!" as he did so.

At Carnoustie it was Woods who stumbled on the back nine while leading.
